My name is David N. Kelly
and I am the founder and President of Forest Resource Consulting (FRC). FRC was
incorporated in 1994 and at that time concentrated in teaching timber supply modeling
and building timber supply models using the TRIM and ATLAS models. Over the years
FRCs work has evolved to include teaching ESRI GIS and developing custom
ArcView applications. Since 1996 I have been an ESRI authorized instructor and
have taught hundreds of people to use and customize ArcView and ArcGIS.
My work with FRC now concentrates
in three areas: teaching ESRI GIS, developing custom ArcView applications, and
modeling natural resources. To this effort I bring knowledge and experience gained
from working over thirty years in natural resources, software development and
GIS. I have had a varied and interesting career.
My fascination with modeling
has led me to a series of interesting jobs during my career. In graduate school
I studied and built mathematical models of natural systems. Following graduate
school I helped develop and program growth and yield equations for a forest products
companys linear programming model and I built models of forest resources.
In my years as an economist for the State of Florida I built timber supply models.
Since 1989, I have used GIS as a modeling and management tool. GIS has been and
continues to be both exciting and fascinating.
